JUNIOR HISTORY Under the best auspices on a bright sunny Septem ber mornlng in 1955, three freshmen who had graduated together from the Manhattan eighth grade, Blanche Brackett, Edwln Dillard and Jene Cornell, entered high school as meek and mlld flrst year students. The upper classmen, we thought had ever so many privlleges, e of whlch they exercised is lnitiatlng Gene and dwin a esoteric reason escaped lYlt1at1OH rigors that year perhaps for being the only girl. The second year found the same members enrolled and looking eagerly for a freshman to 1n1t1ate to glV6 vent to the meanness accumulated in our own lnitlatlon, but there were no freshmen at first. Flnally, an Ghlo boy, Buford Warner, appeared as a freshman transfer ring from Tonopah, but as he alone would have tc bear the brunt of all, we felt sorry and took hlm to our arms without further ceremony L .
