SENIOR! Maw Schwartz vice president Lay ecletarx tleasuier Comoton nreident September, 1943 brought 149 piosptctnc SQYIIOIS to the halls of MHS Little did me realize how much the next thiee veirs would ter the first few weeks Having four sophomores captule impoitant ioles in the H1 Y G R play, Sixteen in Aug ust brought us lowly sophs to the limelight Two others represented us on the stage cicw. With this to boost our ego, we overcame our shyness enough to sign up for various Fi -'- skin Prom committees. Mary Alice Victor and Irma Lee Simonton were both eandidatts for Queen from our class and Johnny Busenbark and L. D. Compton held their own for King. Bobby Srack and Millie Domino reijncd. We remember the Prom now as a wonderful par- ty and winning the CKL Championship made it all the more glorious. We had started the year off right by tlect- ing Bill Daly as class president with Wally Whitney and Maxine Yenawine as his assist- ants. All this totaled up to a swell semester especially with Don Buster and Johnny Bus- enbark serving our class on the Student Coun- c . February 12 gave the girls a ch-mee to pay the boys back at the Golddiggers Ball spon- sored by the junior class. After recovering from this we were asked to serve 'it thc Jun- ior-Senior Banquet and Dance. April 22 was the sophomore party. This and the Blue M Dance ended a rcally swtll year. And so we bade farewell to the seniors of 44 and looked forward to our second yuir at MHS At last summer was here and ou1 thoughts xx eie of swimming, tennis, wo1k1nf.,, golf, and bascb ill, and it wasn t until August that wc hold in store for us Imagine oui imazcment when again we tiudged ba k to 'VIHS to find th it tht insti tutlon had h id its face lifted' The halls smell ed of fresh paint in the audltoiium we saw not only a new paint job, but a new maroon curtain with drapts to match. Fred Rogers Dick Morse, and Gloria Wil- son led us in our class activities as president vice-president and secretary-treasurer - sptetively. Norma Lou Myers and John Weigel represented us on the Council, with Don Buster and Johnny Busenbark as ex-of- fieio members. Among tl'e five cheerleaders chosen, Shirley King and Billie Rickard were from our class. When the Hi-Y-G. R. play, llane Crazy , rolled around Frtd Rogers, Guy Marlow, Roger Sommtrs, Ken Robinson, Norma Lou Myers, Corinne Holm, Lenore Holmquist, and If dwina Frick all succeeded in giving a fine performance showing their ability as future fl1 llllBl.lSllS. L. D. Campton, Paul Schwartz, Bill Ma- chin lcon Bolts Pill Eidson were on the CKL winning team with Johnny Busenbark and Bill Hosicr being, elected co-captains for the com- ing, seison. To climax the triumphs of the season our second Pigskin Prom'was high- lighted by h-wing Paul Schwartz Johnny Busenbark, I.. D.
