One of the highlights of the year was the annual Youth Conference held Feb. 27-28. This vear the Hi-Y and G. R. were privileged to have Rev. Willifm Hage from Emporia as their speaker. During the two-day confer- ence he spoke to the membership of the Hi-Y and G. R., the student body and conducted pcrsonal conferences. In the fall a training conference was held i11 Clay Center for all cabinet members. Many different ideas of leadership were presented at this conference for th benefit of all pres- en . A sectional Hi-Y conference was held April 15 in Manhattan. Approximately 120 dele- gates attended the meeting from the central area of Kansas. They 11 ere divided into five discussion groups. The climax of the meeting' was a banquet held in the evening. D'. Slutz from Cleveland Ohio acted as leader of the conference. The Hi-Y and G. R. have combined on sev- eral occasions this year. Perhaps two of the most memor- able events given in the fall and spring, were the Father-Son Potluck and Mother-Son Banquet which were enjoyed by parents and boys alike. During the football season the candy stand was again in charge of the Hi-Y. From the money taken in sizable contributions were made to the War Fund and Red Cross. The Hi-Y book exchange was again operated this year for the benefit of all. As in other years the Hi-Y had charge of the Easter Assembly. The leadership of the club was placed in the hands of president Guy Marlowg vice- president, Duane Blough' secretary Lorraine Reese treasurer Dick P'lI'kEl world brother- hood chairm ll John Greene' program chair- man Robert Thayer' p iblicity chairman Bob Parizo' social chairman Ralph Shellenoaum' devotional chairman, John Hall.
