Their aim was ro promote closer and more coherent associa- , tion among the studenrs interested. and to give a definite and con- tinuing structure to tneir joint activities in college life, and in the broader field of post-graduate life. To lNIanhattan, the source of their association and the inspiration of their impulses to co-operative activity. they dedicated a fraternity conceived through their untiring enterprise. f As lNIanhattan grew in numbers and influence Phi Rho Pi was ever with the vanguard in enlisting the best efforts of the students of Q Dlanhattan, on campus and athletic field, in lecture hall and forum, J towards the further honor and glory of Manhattan, Hthe Bfaker of Al lNIen.,, Phi Rhois greatest pride lies in the achievement of her mem- bers during the last decade, in both academic and extra-curricula activities. A1 So well did Phi Rho develop, that a chapter of the fraternity J has been founded at St. Francis College, Brooklyn. The present roster of the parent chapter numbers one hundred and seventy-five 1: names, and, although it has been in existence only twelve years, it has done much for lilanhattan, its members, and for itself. The men of the fraternity branch out into their various professions and callings with a character and training which augurs well for their own success. T and for the glory of Phi Rho Pi. It was founded primarily to promote firm bonds of union and good fellowship among those students whose homes are in the Albany district, and to spread the name and fame of Alma Blatei in that locality. The success attained in that regard is evinced in the support given to all Manhattan activities held there, and in the success enjoyed throughout the clubls entire social program. To every Manhattan request the club has responded to the full extent of its capabilities, and has done its best to brin ' to realization the ideals of its founders As one of the pioneers of the club idea in Manhattan, the Albans Club has assisted in the opening of a broad and entirelv new field of undergraduate life. The founders of tl1e club. their work finished and their preparations for life completed, have passed out into the world Others remain to take up tl1e work where thev left off and to carrv out the high ideals which those pioneers established.
