Our Lord, Jesus Christ, is our Model and also the end for which we are made, so it is through the graces of the Redemption that we must attain our eternal salvation. But between Our Lord and mankind there is also a Mediatrix, a Co- Redemptrix, the Mother of God. On December 8, 1955, Pope Pius XII dedicated the year 1954 to Mary, and since then it has been designated, littingly, as the Marian Year. The dedication serves to sharpen the focus on Mary's role in the salvation of souls. This jubilee year thus points up clearly the vital necessity of Mary as Mediatrix of All Graces. We, the Graduates of 1954, deem it a privilege to use Mary's role as Mediator of man to Christ as the theme of this Yearbook. We do so, not only because of our realization of the great debt of love we owe her, but also because of the hope that this tiny measure of recognition will help man to understand the urgency that motivates this influential figure, this Universal Mother, this Holy Mother of God.
