With only 5 people who knew extremely little about how to produce a yearbook, the idea seemed absurd. But someone needed to do it, so we tried and ran into about as many problems as there were pages in the book (maybe more). Without our repre- sentative from Jostens (Derius Mammen). or help from STUCO fi- nancially, there’s no way we could have pulled it off (Thanks!). Well, it’s finished and we hope that alll our efforts to pull this off will be worth it to the student body. We appreciate your support! P.S. I'd like to give a special thank- you to those on the staff. Though it was a burden at times. we learned a lot and we grew a lot. | hope it has been an experience that you'll remember with a smile. Though the yearbook, “Vision.” did return, more important was JOSTEN’ S LAME RICAN that manifested itself in the “Invest in ihe Vision.”’ With the help of Cargill Associat- ed. MCC set out to raise 5 41 2 million dol- lars. This was done in order to take fhe school out of financial crisis and set it on a more solid foundation (otherwise known as ““endowment’’). Though the school will still need other support to function effec- tively. this three-year campaign will help to protect it in times of future crisis. the “vision” MCC fundraising campaign. Excellence assumes an objective. It demands that we think beyond dreams and concepts; that we think of reality in terms of what can be, what ought to be. We recognize that we will not achieve excellence in everything, but we must pursue it continually. Christian leadership demands vision. The Christian leader must have both fore- sight and insight. When he does, he will be able to envision the end result of the policies or methods he advocates. Vision includes optimism and hope. No pessimist ever became a great leader The pessimist sees a difficulty in every opportunity; the optimist sees an opportu- nity in every difficulty. Vision imparts venturesomeness — the willingness to take fresh steps of faith when there is a seeming void beneath. (Ted Engstrom)
