They spent the weekend being informed, entertained, and challenged by the many activities coordinated and planned by Festival Chairperson, Sandy Bradshaw. The students were offered a wide range of activities, including: a carnival, a concert by Triumphant Sound, Break-out Meetings, main sessions with speaker Tim Coop, a Banquet, a concert by September, lots of time for good fellowship, and to round out the weekend, a Celebration Worship Service on Sunday morning in All Faiths Chapel. 1) As MCC Students Angie Pucket, Rose Hanlin, and Deb Crocket show, even college students enjoy carnivals. 2) Sometimes you feel like just sitting back and watching, 3) and sometimes it is more fun to participate. 4) September in concert. 5) How do you like your eggs, Barry-scrambled? 6) Cathy and Andy Cassel enjoyed the rides. 7) The September concert was well attended by both high school and college students. 8) Vana and Phil played for the Sunday morning Celebration Worship Service. 9) Tim Coop was the main speaker. 10) Ewing, you killed Jesse!!! 11) Celebration Singers sang at the Sunday morning Celebration Worship Service. 53 54 REACHING CONVENTION This year’s convention theme was “The Bible: God’s Authority for the Church.” The opening session was a surprise “This is Your Life” for the Lowns. All three music groups sang throughout the week — New Creation Choir, Triumphant Sound, and Celebration Singers. Speakers for the week included Dr. Jack Cottrell; Dr. Marion Henderson, who was the main speaker; and Mark Taylor. The week also had in store an alumni basketball game between the “evens” and the “‘odds.” The play-by-play was given by sportscasters Charles Cook and Dennis Glenn. 55 56 57 58 Se TOSS AN 59 60 Parents’ Day was held on February 19, 20, and 21 this year. The theme was “Ma, Pa, Me, and Thee.” Gina Boyd headed the committee that planned the activities for Parents’ Day. These activities included a con- cert by Celebration Singers, a talent show, and a banquet given in the parents’ honor. PARENTS’ D Y RECITALS | J | 61 HRISTMAS CONCERT ALUMNI TELEFUND 63 ALUMNI- SENIOR BANQUET FACU. = Y-STAFF- SENIOR BANQUET The graduating seniors are traditionally the guests of the alumni and of the faculty and staff. The faculty-staff-senior banquet was particularly memorable. The Reverend David Pape shared an excellent message, “How to Cope with Life,” and Dr. James Van Buren presented another memorable “Senior Soliloquy.” The evening ended with a statement of plans by each senior. 65 66 1982 GRADUATES OF MANHATTAN CHRISTIAN COLLEGE Fee gr lt 'y aX d -4 CLASS OF 1982 Bill J.
