Its purpose is to determine the aims and actions of the student func- tions. The Council is torep- resent student opinion to the administration so that all things might be done decent- ly and in order that even a greater harmony might be achieved, We feel that this policy is for the mutual benefit of both students and faculty. The Christian Veterans League was formed by the veterans of World War I! so that they might have acloser fellowship. This organization has served the school in many ways. The greatest service was the building of the prayer room, Because many veterans have graduated the number of the group is small but the spirit is still high. However brief, itis a quiet and a welcome sanctuary wherein we meet with and talk to our God, DEVOTIONS Every morning inthe chapel, and on Wednesday evening there is a lull in the busy activity of school life. A time when the stu- dents gather together to worship God. This has proved a spiritual blessinganda welcome time when we can take a few minutes to be in communion with God. We hope that it will also be an encouragement to other young people to come and share with us in the rich experiences and wonderful bless ings of M.B.C. It has been with much work and cooperation that the Mabico was made possible but all in all has provided for a fine fellowship among the students. This page is sponsored by AGENCY CHRISTIAN CHURCH Agency, Missouri 36 MANAGEMENT: Wendell Sack, Assistant Ed; Robert Winger, Editor; John Greenlee, Business Manager. Together we will work to give M.B,C, an annual that they will be proud toown, Thanks to the copy-writers, typists and Revenue Department. Compliments of J. B. COURSEN As a further means of utilizing the talents of M.B.C. students Gospel teams were organized, Their main function is to carry the gospel of Christ by means of special music, chalk-art, poems, and preaching to churches in the Bible College area. According to the reports brought back by these teams, their efforts have been successful, and we are confident of their continued success in the future. It houses the diningroom where our single students eat and the reception room where the boys await, and we do mean wait, their dates. Basketball seems the outstanding sport of the year. Joe Shultz, a new student and former basketball coach, drilled the team to what seemeda very successful year. During the year our college entered the city league and scheduled games with neighboring towns. Baseball teams in the Spring have also added to the school spirit. When Paul Hartenberger began as part time minister, the congregation consisted of two persons beside himself. Since then, it has grownsteadily toa large attendance and is growing in influence for Christ in that community. The offerings from the Wednesday evening chapel services of the Bible College go to support this church and also the one at Perry. About one and one-half years ago because of a general decline in interest and attendance the Christian Church at Perry, Kansas, closed its doors, had the utilities turned off and ceased to hold services of any kind. David Cone, Professor of Music and Evangelism was selected by the faculty and students to lead in the reopening of the church, Starting with an attendance of six people in November of '51 it has grown to an attendance of around thirty in three and one- half months. Students from M.B.C. assist quite often in bringing musical numbers and in teaching, Before the opening of the church fifteen students from M.B.C. labored to get the building ready for services. Mud from two July floods was scooped from the basement and the upstairs was scrubbed and waxed. Much still needs to be done but we believe that with God's help the church at Perry will grow to be a thriving congregation. ‘This Page Sponsored By JOE SAMUELS Director of Religious Ed. Paxton has assumed a full time ministry at the Crysler Avenue Christian Church, Independence, Missouri. His responsibilities as field representative have been taken by Robert E. Winger. Bob came to Manhattan Bible College in 1948 from Kansas City, Missouri. In addition to his new duties he also ministers to the Church at Creighton, Mis- souri, and Urich, Missouri. “Singspiration” It was decided by thestudent council to have a singspiration service each Monday evening at the Danforth Chapel on the K- State campus. This is a special service which is held to better acquaint the students of the two colleges, and to promote Christian fellow- ship through the singing of choruses and hymns. ROBERT E, WINGER New Field Representati “Old Folks Home” Friday night for M.B.C. students has become a night of cheerfulness and good will for on that night we perform aspecial service for the folks at The Rebecca and 1.0.0.F. Home for the Aged. Each week a different student preaches and others carry on the com- plete program. Both student and congregation gain much from the service.
