PROPHECY Would you like to take a trip into the future with me? If so, hurry, because the time ship will soon be leaving for a trip into the dark, now unknown future. Fasten your safe- ty belts, steady now, and--off--we--go! I can't see anything but blackness now, can you? Maybe it won't be too long now before we can see into the future through this little machine here on my right. See, objects are beginning to appear on that screen right now. Why, if it isn't -- no, it can't be, but it is Yvonne McFarland. Who would have ever thought she would be- come pianist at the Stork Club? The scene is changing now and it looks to me like a newspaper office. Isn't that Bernadine Poole? Well, so it is. She finally has a newspaper all her own. Oh! oh! we're at Carolina Beach now, and from where is that delicious smell coming? Where did you say? Oh! from Thomas Tippett's sea-food restaurant. I never knew he could cook. It seems as if we are looking in on a Hollywood movie eet now, and isn't that Carl Riley dressed up like Robin Hood? I always thought Carl had hidden talents. Uh! oh! we're in the Army now! Wonder who we know here at this camp? There's Marshall Ellis. I'm glad he fi- nally got to be a soldier because he was so anxious. His rank? Mess Sgt! My, what a large cattle ranch! Wonder who the owner is? I see now, it is Robert Wynne. There's plenty of steak in their freezer locker, I bet! Here's a natural looking scene. Barbara Gilchrist with another ring on her finger having quite a bad time getting that ten-room house cleaned for week-end guests. Isn't that a pretty little church? And isn't that Lew- is Jeffries preaching? Whoever would have thought he'd be- come a Methodist minister?

Y XX XV Women.' We also sponsored the Junior-Senior Banquet and were taught to publish the 'Mangum Newsette.' But the most exciting day was when our classrings arrived.Class officers for that year were: President, Jean Gates, Vice President, Cordelia Hayes. That year we lost Jean Gates and Helen Roberts who were convinced they should settle down and start a home. ' The next and last year we were known as dignified 'Seniors' with Miss Wilkins as our homeroom teacher. This year went swiftly by. The big Jobs for this year were: 'Mangum Newsette,' 'Ebhoes of M.H.S.', the senior play,'0ur Miss Brooks' and best for the last the senior trip and graduation. Of the group that began together at Mangum, Holt and Rougemont in .l9bO only these remained together throughout the twelve years: Libby Dellinger,Thomas Tippett Emmy Lou Vaughan, Lobera Duke, Dan Terry, Yvonne McFarland, Hazel Roberts, Lucille Blalock, Mary Duncan, Lewis Jeffries, Bernadine Poole, Rosa Belle Stevens, Stacey Flintom and Melinda Gaydou. The officers for the year were: President, Emmy Lou Vaughan, Vice President, Thomas Tippettg Secretary, Bernadine Poole, Treasurer, Libby Dellinger. Together with those who joined our class from other schools, twenty five make up a Senior Class of 1952. Z Now as we reach our last few high school days the year is one which we shall always remember. we wish to thank our principal, our teachers, our parents and friends who have helped us earn an education. And may we now say farewell to all of you as we go into the world to seek the next step in life that God has in store for us. ' Em y Lou Vaughan

There's Lucille Blalock in her little can't understand how she sews and looks at at the same time. Boy! look at Rosa Belle Stevens! That yer she married really made her a Mrs. Ritz sewing shop. I television both rich, young law Bitz. Diamonds and furs seem to grow on trees around this place. Well, look at Faydene Wheeler. She has finally settled down. That's one of her old flames she has married. Can you imagine her being satisfied sitting down and mending socks? There's Cordelia Hayes designing a piece of jewelry. She sells it to all the large stores of New York and she also designs jewelry for movies. Dorothy Roberts is still dancing, I see. Her folk- dance team is practicing now for the national championship award in the Spring. I hardly recognized Mary Duncan in her baking uniform. Her products are famous all over the South. There goes Stacey Flintom in his newest Cadillac. His new-and-used car lot has feally paid off! Melinda Gaydou, it seems, has married her former boss. Guess who's boss now? Well, here come the Powers' Models! And isn't that Ha- zel Roberts? It seems as if beauty is Haze1's business now. My what a gang of children! Emmy Lou Vaughan seems to be very popular with her students at her nursery school. Isn't that Dan Terry running from that crowd of girls? Since he has become such a fine vocalist and crooner, he's having a hard time controlling his admirers. There's Marie Jacobs who planned to be a nurse. Oh, well, she got as We are back senior, but this dance routine. dance? far as nursemaid, which is really better. in the Stork Club now where we saw another time we see Lobera Duke going through a tap Did you ever realize how that girl could Patricia Paschall is writing another book. She has al- ready written four successful novels. H. L. Chambers looks very happy surrounded by models of his latest invention --dancing dolls. What will he do next? Who did you say? Freddy Williams? Why he's pilot of this time ship! Did you think that I would trust anyone else on a trip like this? Well, we've landed now. Good-bye - and join us again when we make a trip into the future. Libby Williams
