nxecuuve ivleeung neia Of Parish 4-H Officers A 'group of excited 4-H club officers of Richland Parish gathered in the Rayville Grammar School Auditorium on October 29th. They had gathered for the purpose of discussing the fol- lowing items: Election of Parish Of- ficers, Election of song leaders, dis- cussion of National Achievement Week and the teaching of Parlimentary Pro- cedure. The Parish Officers of the 4-H Club for the year of 1949-50 are as follows: President, G. P. McAl1isterg Vice- President, Geraldine Wilsong Secre- tary, Adelene Kirkg Treasurer, Fred- die Boughtong Reporter, Mary Alice Rockettg Parlimentarian, Huey Rob- erts. The Song Leaders for the coming year are Geraldine Wilson, Janice Os- bon, Herman Ratcliff, Bertha Lue Tra- vis, Carolyn Dark, Tommie Matheny, Joyce Bellows and Jerry Wiggins. Mr. Collings has offered his services to teach a singing school to these song leaders and to the officers of the clubs in Richland Parish at the Rayville Grammar School on November 5th at 10 o'clock. A A A A A B B C IVIANliHAIVI H-itll TU RAYVIHE, lil Hornets Forced To Come Fron Behind To Spoil Dragons' Homecoming MANGHAM, La., Nov. 19.-tSpeciaf -The Rayville Hornets came frox behind to beat the Mangham Dragon 14 to 6, here last night in Mangham' homecoming day game. A large crow witnessed the clean, hard-fought con test, which was not marred by single penalty. The Dragons, playing their bee game of the season by far, went int the lead in the second quarter. Re covering a Hornet fumble on their ow four-yard line, they drove all th way down the field, with Floy Boughton, E. Lee Strickland, an Bobby Hendrix, star tackle who wz used in the backfield some, gainin most of the ground. Strickland carrie the ball over for Mangham from hz four. James Etier's kick for the extr point was blocked. The first ha' ended with Rayville deep in Drago territory trying to overcome the 6 to deficit. I-lalfbaek Leamon Best, Rayville, an Captain Bobby Hendrix, Mangham were the stand-out players of th game. Best led the Hornets to victor with his fancy running and solid de fensive play. Tackle Bobby Hendri continued his outstanding tackling an blocking and also proved himself very capable ball carrier. For the Hornets, Backs Gilbert an Adams also looked good. The entir Dragon forward wall of Edwar Moore, Hendrix, Joe Matheny, Ro Thomason, D1-ewey Valentine, E Brown, Johnny Moore, and Fre Douciere merited high praise for ir work. Boughton, Lowery and Stricls land stood out in the backfield. The football game was preceded b the croviming of the homecomin queens, Kittye Pardue and Bettye Wil liams. During the half the 32-membe Dragon pep squad put on a magnii icent show which featured the marching maneuvers, flaming letter and a spectacular war dance. MANGHAM SENIORS MEET The Mangham Senior Class met t morning of October 10th, to elect ficers and class favorites. The officers elected were as follov President, J. W. Thompson: Vir President, James Etierg Secretary, Ii gene Johnston: Treasurer, John Moore, Reporter, Zona Morris. Following the election of officers t class favorites were selected: Most Beautiful--Betty Williams. Most Handsomehliugenc Johnstc Most Popular Girl--Kittye Pardue.
