-an usicians . . . and harmony The band has grown from a mere dozen members when the band was first organized in 1921 to the largest musical organization in Mandan. Adding to the progress of the band has been the newly organized Band Mothers club which sponsors projects for the raising of finances. In order to reach their goal of S3,000, the selling of Christmas trees, bake sales, socials, and even a Chinese dinner by the band fathers have resulted in the purchase of new uniforms and instruments . . . four French horns, an oboe, two basses, 24 drums, and two upright basses. For the past two years the highlight of the band activities has been a summer trip to the Minneapolis Aquatennials. This year the band is planning a change of scenery and is pre- paring for a iourney northward into Canada. On parade or in concert . . . music by the Mandan High School band remains a vibrant memory to those who have heard it, long after the last chords have faded. Ya ,, l 2 l i ' Q N -N R ii.
