The unbeatable battery of Michelle Clement, pitcher and Lauren Lavigne, catcher, brought the team to the State Tournament. The girls reached the semi- finals by beating Central and Concord, but lost to Merrimack. The top players were junior Michelle Clement with a no hitter, Sophomore Amy Martin, second baseman for a tight defense and shortstop and backup pitcher, Freshman Jody Glea- son. With the efforts of Senior co-captain, Rick Fitzgerald, and a supporting cast of juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen, the 1987 rebuilding season, which finished with an exceptable, 6-12 record, became one of hope. As we saw Sophomore Pat Gosselin and Freshmen john Tippet rise at the conclusion of the season to belt two home runs, we realized there was light at the end of the va tunnel. OIITSTANDI GI THEIR FIELD This yearis 1987 Girls Track team was packed with super stars. Denise Lallocca, as captain, supported her team with an 8-6 season record. As a team they came in second in the city meet with Class Lis in view for Sr. Denise LaRocca, Ir. jenn Zeludancz, Ir. Heidi Follet, jr. Karen Cote, Ir. Kelly Pearson, Ir. Maureen Broderick and Soph. Tracy Alsheskie. Many of these girls went onto the states, but jenn, Heidi and Kelly placed high en- ough to compete in New Englands. Who could ask for more?
