To The Class of 1977: It's an honor to address the first graduating class of Manchester Twp. High School. I'm certain you're as proud of this moment as we are. Each generation faces its own problems: depressions, wars, famine and pestilence. Few generations in any coun- try in history have been so hurt by lack of trust in their leaders as this generation in this country. As a result, our overriding mood in 1977 is one of individual doubt. You, as a group, represent the new spirit necessary to dispel our present mood of pessimism. You will measure our country's accomplishments during 200 years, against the foolishness of a handful of persons in the past 20 years. We wish our first, and therefore somewhat special, graduates of Manchester Twp. High School, the attainment of the goals you have set for yourselves. Yours Truly,

You helped launch a new educational facility which has given additional opportunities to the students of Manchester Township and Lakehurst. The new set of traditions you have initiated will establish high standards for those who will follow your footsteps.
