Friday. June 23. l978 was a day that marked happiness for most gradu- ating seniors, and disappointment for others. The commencement cere- monies began promptly at 6:30, attracting the usual crowd of parents, rel- atives, and friends, As the Class of '78 made its way down the hill. their excitement was expressed through cheers and gestures The actual cere- mony began without incident however as the sun began to set and the graduates came forward to receive their diplomas, some lost sight of what the real purpose of graduation entails. Others simply revealed their joy and excitement for this event. A small number of graduates did act in an unbecoming fashion, and caused the administration to take steps in with- holding their diplomas until later MIXED EMOTIO GRADUATIO GHT fi?
