The years we spend in high school are more than four years set aside for learning from textbooks. This is, of course, the main idea, but think of how many other things we leam. We expand our horizons not only from books but also from the people around us. We grow in our attitudes, perspectives and goals. Our years spent here aren't wasted ones - not if we don't let them be. Ideas established here at Manchester will stay with us the rest of our lives. It is here that our futures begin, not after we graduate as many think. And it is here we leam to laugh, to understand one another, to dream and primarily to capture those dreams. That's what high school is all about. E314-Mala As we look back on our years in Manchester we can reflect on the problems and delights that we have experienced and see how we dealt with them, but, more importantly, what we have learned from them. We can laugh inwardly at situations now that were almost tragic then. At other times we vented our anger toward Manchester when we were treated unfairly. Now that we are graduating we can hopefully see that things arenit always as gloomy as we think they are and more importantly they will get better. Learning here at Manchester has been an experience in itself - we are better people if we come out more mature than when we started. Jia Within these past four years, high school has given me the opportunity to meet new friends, experience new surroundings, and develop a new outlook on life. By setting goals and working hard to achieve them, I've learned to cope with many of life's situations. The best thing about it was that there was always someone there to help me, guide me, and show me the way. I'm sure many of you have heard the saying YOU ONLY GET OUT OF LIFE EXACTLY WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT . To me these words couldn't have a stronger meaning. Some of us have chosen to put forth an effort and get involved: others have not. Whichever it may be, high school has given us the choice. These past years have been the best years that I will never forget. Now itis time to move on - to set new goals and meet new friends. But, donit worry about the past because there will always be happy times to remember and fond memories to linger on. . . 0334791 This has been a place for growing up. As our years at Manchester have finally ended I hope you can Qas IJ look back on them with happiness. I'm quite sure more than a few of you are glad to be goingg but I think you'll realize that you had fun in your own way. Think of the friends you have made, both student and faculty, the great times you had in or out of your classes. And how can you forget that great feeling of impending freedom these last days of your years as underclassmen? Some of you will probably never feel that way again in your lives. If you remember with a positive attitude you will agree that you had fun and may have even QW For every member of our Senior Class there is a different set of memories that will be stored away with our yearbook and diploma. Although we came to school to be educated there is no reason for anyone to remember only this part of his Manchester years. High school should be much more than burying oneself in a pile of schoolbooks. It is a chance to become involved, to meet and learn to deal with people and to have fun. If one does not take advantage of these opportunities then he is throwing away four years that have the potential to be pleasurable. For any Senior regretting his own apathy it is too late. I only hope that this will give the underclassmen something to think about, 53.QQw'tS,,,o,..77?...Q,c learned something!
