Kris Hungler - Vice-President. elif ibilitie This year's Sophomore class has assumed many responsibilities. No longer the low men on the.totem pole. they have moved into new posi- tions in the school. For instance. there is an all- sophomore majorette squad along with both Drum and Majorette squads led by sophomore co-captains. There are also several sophomore players on the Varsity football team. For the Class of l98l. the school year of l978-79 will be a year to remember because of their enormous par- ticipation in these and many other school activi- ties. During this school year we were sadly aware of this fact as two students were lost to different kinds of deaths. It was during the winter of l978 that Hatim Mirza was being evaluated by spe- cialists to determine if he was a candidate for open-heart surgery. However, he died before the evaluation was completed. Linda Lockwood was a victim in a horrible car crash which injured another member of the student body at Man- chester. Sue Argenio. Linda died instantaneously S- , in the accident which occurred in Franklin Lakes. Both people will be sorely missed. lt is examples like these that should make us aware of how life is a thing to be cherished always and not to be taken for granted.
