Manchesteris a Threat in Bowling Competition The Varsity Bowlina team had a good season even thouah its dream of first place was shattered by Passaic County Tech. Sue Sturm arid Joan Schnell are looking forward to a future girl's team. The Fencing team. coached by Mr. Moore. had another successful year, holding a record of 9-4. The Seniors, Stew Lampe. Mark Hendry, and John Hodde. were the leaders of the squads. Stew Lampe in Sabre had 21 wins and 5 losses. Mark Hendry, in Foil also had 21 wins and 5 losses, while John Hodde in Epee had 19 wins and 4 losses. Mark was third in the district and tenth in the state. Stew Lampe was also third in the districts but he came in second in the state. Captain John Hodde was fourth in the districts came in first in the AFLA High School Championships and Sec- ond in the New Jersey AFLA under 20 s. John traveled to Boston and fenced in the National Under 20 Epee competition and placed in the top 16 in the nation. Sue and Joan, the team's only girls, pair off against each other. Lg ,gay .,,..
