This year the girls who ran on cross country were supposedly recognized as a team yet no actual record of their season was kept They are esti mated as having a 500 record which will be something to build and losing two seniors Bonnie Sarnelli and Rose Dell Aquila the remaining girls and incoming freshmen have a good chance for a winning record next Fall improve on. The Cross Country Team had a disap- pointing season with 4 wins and 9 losses. partially due to a loss of six sen- ior runners the preceding year. The team is now trying to build itself up again. and Coach Reimer is hoping for a larger turnout next year. A lack of interest in this grueling sport is evident. ticipation by more students. Although the season didnt go as well as hoped. numerous awards were bestowed upon the team s top runner. Pete Orbe. A04 was 4 655,47 50114 M66 First Volleyball COVE dafffxf Team to Beat Hawthorne The Varsity Volleyball team ended the season with a I3-win, 2-loss record. They were the first volleyball team to beat our archrival, Hawthorne, in two years, but finished a disappointing sec- ond place to them in the league. Coach Gensinger expects the team to take first place next year because all except the two senior co-captains, Patty Elsaesser and Donna Ververs, will be returning. Individual honors went to the main five players: Patty Elsaesser, Donna Ver- vers, Debbie Manno, Patty Angelicola and Geri Saya. A Debbie Manno and Geri Saya dive for the ball.
