Craig Fountain The Varsity Football Team came through the 1978 season with a record of 4 5 One of the high lights of their season was their game against Elmwood Park The Falcons went into the fourth quarter losing by a score of 25 15 Excited fans cheered wildly as the Falcons pulled through that fourth quarter to beat Elmwood Park by a score of 37 25' All the players performed very well throughout the season in standing Senior on the team was John GIOVHIIO Manchester s quarterback who ranks as second best passer in the school s history John passed for l 961 yards and made 18 touchdowns for the Fal cons Other Seniors who were extremely important to John and the team were receivers Joe Mitsch Steve Barbarulo and John Barath who were always in the right place to complete John s passes and to gain yardage for the Falcons their respective positions.
