The student body, with the help of the cheerleaders and band, express their spirit through the cheers for the teams. During the Presidential Election in November the stu- dents at Manchester held their own mock election. It gave each person a chance, whether they were eighteen or not, to voice their opinion and enabled the History teachers to show how the democratic process operates. The outcome was that Gerald Ford was the victor and that legalized gam- bling was favorably agreed upon. FORD COMES OUT THE VICTOR IN OUR MOCK ELECTIONS iE6.iJs'w.us D002 demonstrates the procedure f 01 UUUWE- Individuals help with the registering of the student voters. 148 Registration is required before voting. Students wait their turn to cast their vote.

The Student Council Dance was the First of Many Successful Dances at Manchester The first dance of the year, sponsored by the Stu- dent Council, was to welcome Freshmen to Man- chester. This was the first time that a disc-jockey was used rather than a band. Its great success added much money to the treasury which enabled the coun- cil to start their activities. Xljr Robbin, Greg, Mark and Ray open the way to the first dance of the year.
