After School Activities Enrich the School Day When the last bell has rung and the halls have been vacated, many rooms again begin to fill with enthusiastic stu- dents gathered for club meetings. Many hours are spent as Sock and Buskin members prepare for a play and the Student Council organizes its varied ac- tivities. High School Worldlings can be seen rushing to meet their Wednes- day deadline, while harmonious notes rise from the music wing where a group is practicing for a concert. As a result of these and many other organizations, students acquire the qualities of lead- ership, cooperation, and responsibility.

When the school day ends, many students make their way to the gym area. On the field and in each gym, groups of students strive for physical fitness. The spirit of good sportsmanship is the goal in all our en- deavors. The MHS varsity and junior varsity teams practice many hours each day. The general physi- cal education program also includes Leaders' Club, intramurals, and organizations such as the Tumbling Club, Aquaettes, and Cheerleaders. Each sport takes the time and energy of many coaches and partici- pants and presents a challenge which helps to mold enduring values in all. Physical Fitness Is Encouraged at MHS . . . gif
