DALE DAVIS One dark and gloomy night our worthy science teacher, Mr. Davis, while slowly wending his way homeward Watched a shooting star a. bright ray of which penetrated his ponder-ous mind, He conceived instantaneously of a great club. The following morning he told his cla.sses if they would be good little boys and girls and listen he would tell them of his great idea. All persons both boys and girls who shall acquire a grade in Chemistry or Physics of a.n A or B would band themselves together for better or worse. Thus the Chem-Phi Club was conceived and started. Meetings of this club were held fortnightly on Monday nights and it is needless to say that few absences were reported, for these meetings devoted to the discussion of matters of scientific importance were of great interest. Rev. Wells appeared before the club and gave a thorough discourse of the Einstein Theory, Rev. Moore and Rev. McDuifey discussed evolution. Scientific films were shown on one occasion, while another evening was spent visiting the laboratory of Dr. E. G. Dittmer. An excursion took the club to the Electric Light Plant, Mayflower Dairy plant, the meat market and the Ice Cream plant. The success of the club is due to the untiring interest of the advisor, Mr. Davis. Due to his efforts the work of the club is of such interest that there is no doubt of the perpetuation of its existence. Tivmzty-ciglzt

S. this year under the supervision of Miss Yeager. This game which was played on the rear campus, calls for eleven players and is similar in many ways to football Cminus the tacklingj. K Because of the interest aroused, class 'teams were chosen, ca.pta.ins elected, and class games arranged. The Freshmen were defeated by the Sophomores by a. 2-0 score. Intra-Mural League - Paisley's Pole-cats, Baskerville's Bobcats, Barr's Bums, Doc Cook Bears, VVi1son's VVhizzers Mor Zll1,S Monks, 7 Intra-Mural Season ' When Coach Davis called his men out at the beginning of the basketball season, he was greeted by only two letter-men. A great question arose, What was to be done for players? But M1'. Davis soon a11sWcred it by organizing the Intra-Mural Lea.gue, composed of six teams, captained by Paisley, Wilson, Ba.rr, Baskerville, Cook, and Morgan. Each team was entitled to' eight players, and a series of fifteen games were battled out with Paisley 's team in the lead without a defeat, although Wilson 's team gave him a. close race. Morgan didn 't have such good luck, crawling behind with five defeats. The other teams broke about even. During the games Coach Davis was able to pick out three first team players, namely Beddow, Pulliam, and Nandell. Although Paisley 'S team won the pennant, they could not boa.st of the school championsliip u11til they had defeated the Faculty. With the Faculty consisting of star players such as the Davis Twins at forward, Mr. Grossman at center, Young and Larson, two Intra-Murals, filled places vacated by Mr. Weems and Mr. Bangs who failed to show up. The fierce battle took place after school before a large crowd of basketball fans. At the end of the iirst half with the score 4-9 in Paisley 's favor, it looked as though the Faculty would be beaten, but after a rub dow11 the Faculty increased i11 speed until they took the lead, Winning by the score 12-11. When time for the League 's picture to be taken, the Faculty were i11 the gym, training for next year, so missed the picture. Twenty-nine
