By examining man ' s cul- tural, social, intellectual, eco- nomical, and political devel- opment, the History Depart- ment endeavors to answer the questions about the rise and fall of civilizations and the prospects for our own civili- zation. It studies the several theories of history, the great men of history, and our chal- lenge in history. Mrs. Maxine Domer, Dr. Gladdys Muir, Dr. C. Ray Keim SOCIOLOGV ... In the Sociology Department the student studies the nature of social relationships; gains an understanding of forms, controls, prob- lems, and dynamics of these relationships; and obtains guidance in solving problems which arise from them. This problem solving con- stitutes a practical approach to sociology. The several different courses in this department, which is headed by Dr. Don Royer, cover a wide field of interesting areas of sociology. Dr. Donald Rover Business . . . Courses in the Business Department, whose head is Dr. Earl S. Carver, are of value to anyone interested in a career in accounting gener- al business, or teach- ing business in high schools.
