Clvlnette Winning the award for outstandin ganization and the outstanding member in Q collegiate club in the state, the Cjvjn have started in their third year of serv projects for the school and community. The main service project is helping at Children'5 Haven. Q state Of. ettes ice This Thanksgiving a bottle drive was held raise money to buy Thanksgiving Baskets for needy families. At Christmas time the club's biggest money making project is the selling of Claxton Fruit Cakes. to On campus, along with the Civitan Club, they select an outstanding man and woman in the graduating class. Officers: Henry Depew, Treasurerp Roxie Reeves, Presidentp Marilyn SNEA The Manatee Junior College chapter ot Student NEA was organized last year and has now grown To an active membership of fifteen. The main project for the year was the observation of classes at Bayshore Elementary and the local high schools. Mrs. Wake- land of the County School Otlice and Miss Rum Pyche, MJC counselor and co-sponsor, were two of the guest speakers at the chapter meetings. One of the main social activities of the year was the Christmas party at the home of Howard Hult, taculf advisor. Other activities included a pool party qi Marilyn Heistand's and a coffee during one of The meetings. Y Membership in Student NEA is open to all studems interested in teaching. SNEA members and guests at a party, Janice Stringer, Bill Robertson, Roxie Reeves, Mr. Hult, Marilyn Heistand, and Henry Depew begin preparation for the forthcoming year. S A I i '-'TP
