The Technical Education Division, under the direction of Mr. Burnett Tinsley, Jr., is designed to prepare young men for jobs in industry requiring professional and technical train- ing. The three programs being offered are Civil Engineering Technology, Design Drafting Technology, and Electronics Technology. A student completing one of these two year programs will receive an Associate in Science degree en- abling him to demand a responsible position with an im- portant role in industry. Since the demand is greater than the supply, a graduate can also expect to receive better- than-average salary with semi-professional status in the community. This program was started on June 7, l96O, with a grant from the National Defense Education Act. This money is used to purchase equipment necessary for the technical training of prospective engineers and draftsmen. The program offers the high school graduate and other young men an excellent opportunity to acquire training in fields where there is a critical shortage and the demand is greater than the supply. chnology Division The students in this fundamentals of electricity class are working with new equipment purchased under the Na-tional Defense Education Act. 7 Z he ' fm-i,,,-1 , Q .t N--1' J . ,.,,.v.
