French Club French Club l Sells T-Shirts For those interested in French culture and customs, Le Cercle francais planned activities accordingly. Cooking contests, the interests covered. The homes at Christmas time. and to promote school spirit, French Club sold t-shirts with the MHS emblem on them. The sole purpose of the club is the publication of the MHS literary magazine, the Manatee Masterpieces. Many long hours on Special Enrichment Days and after school were put in towards its final printing. Latin Club Students Tread Roman Paths The main objective of the Societas Latina Club was to attend the State Latin Forum in Miami Springs held in April. At district, state, and national forums, aca- demic tests were given in all areas of Latin grammar and history. Other competition was in areas of art, costumes, skits, and track and field events. Each school competed against one another for the most points. Mrs. Kidder began preparing her students for the State Forum at the beginning of the year. In january, the club came, saw, and conquered Northeast High. They returned from the district forum with many awards. Besides preparing academically for the State Forum, the club also earned money for transportation to Miami Springs by selling helium bal- loons at the football games.
