Mu Alpha Theta Members Find Logic of Math Mu Alpha Theta, a club for those students who have had algebra and geometry, was interested in delving into the mysteries of mathematics. With the use of films, lectures, and a bit of chalk, the group became involved in practial as well as theoretical math. They learned how a projector works and discussed the derivation of the quadratic formula. Mathema- tic career opportunities in the military services and civilian life were also discussed. Science Club Chick Contest Raises Money The annual Weather Chick Contest brought in an estimated three hun- dred dollars for the Science Club. Debbie Elliot, who collected the largest amount of cash, received the title of Weather Chick. The money collected during the contest was used throughout the year for field trips to the Bishop Planetarium and other places of scientific interest.
