MJWMMMM Col. Snider corrects Scott Hepbum for his miscalculations. Scott Hepburn and Greg Haas work out an extra big problem with an extra big slide rule. Mu Alpha Theta Members Find Logic of Math Mu Alpha Theta, a club for those students who have had algebra and geometry, was interested in delving into the mysteries of mathematics. With the use of films, lectures, and a bit of chalk, the group became involved in practial as well as theoretical math. They learned how a projector works and discussed the derivation of the quadratic formula. Mathema- tic career opportunities in the military services and civilian life were also discussed. Choraliers, Singing 'Cones Groups Perfect Their Voices The Choraliers, directed by Mr. james Forssell, and the Singing 'Canes, directed by Mr. james Scott, each consisted of sixteen representatives from the other vocal classes. Both groups met after school and worked to perfect their singing voices. The Singing 'Canes performed at nursing homes and other out-of-school activities. They also presented a pop concert at the school. Mr. Scott and Mr. Forssell worked to present a Christmas assembly which was attended by all students. The Choraliers concentrated on a madrigal, a vocal piece in lyric form sung without accompaniment, which was presented at the District nine contest.
