. s ,411 Dear Staff, There's a New World coming, Tomorrow! represents an accent on the future. With the new age of peace, we can look ahead with hope but still spend our present moments in the joy of living. The emphasis was not to ignore past experi- ences but to grow and learn for what each new day could bring. The 1973 'CANE ECHO contains hours of hard work. With a new adviser and an enthusiastic staff, we created a book all our own. We spent days and meals near each other, only to go home to try to sleep with bleeding, cropping, black ink, picture stickers, picas, character counts, and natural spreads spinning in our heads. To the staff, I would like to thank you, personally Mari, for Curriculum and your deep concern-jim, for his flashing adjectives fWhere is the good cropper?j- Debbie C. and Missy, for the all-important Senior section-Steve, for coming to help us just in time-Bill, Doug, and Elaine, for your underclassmen pages-Deb- bie P., for your original advertising and taking so many ad photos over and over again-Dawn, for your art work-Cindy, for your skill typing-Loretta, for your de- votion and necessary questions-jerry, for the laughter you brought into room 106 and keeping track of sales-Suzy, for planning club group pictures and Honors- Laurie lo, for Organizations-Larry, for your promptness and knowledge of sports-Phil, Sid, and Andy, for the hours you spent in the darkroom-Keith, for your countless pictures-Carol, for Student Life and restoring pages-joel, for the Senior Directory-Laura, for your help on the index-and Marc, for your help with the opening and closing sections, senior portraits, and setting up the darkroom. l also owe a great deal to joan Reus, Susan Fields, and the MACOHI staff. I would also like to acknowl- edge the help of Mr. jerry Bass, our man from Paragon. My deepest gratitude goes to Miss joe Berta Bullock for aiding us with her skills in journalism and tre- mendous advice. And last but not least, my greatest debt is to Mr. Ben Tillett, our adviser. His searching questions, personal interest, and constant encouragement have helped to make this work far better than it otherwise might have been. With thermometer in ear, l thank all for the opportunity to grow and learn with this great experience. Sarah Ford, Editor
