Freshmen Get Involved Now Freshmen took on a look of shock as they walked into the halls of Manatee High School for the first time. As freshmen ventured out for the first time on the campus of Manatee, many became completely lost, but for some reason during lunchtime they always seemed to find their way to the forbidden North Campus cafeteria with the upperclassmen. In the long line freshmen could easily be spotted while upperclassmen milled around until the line shortened, freshmen grabbed and held onto their spots until they were served. To the echoing cry of Get Involved stated by Student Council President Dwayne Horton, the freshmen were given an initial push needed for participation in school activities The newcomers were kept busy throughout the year with money raising projects such as car washes and the Poor Pot. These fund raising projects were held to gain money for the freshman Homecoming float, which took fourth place in competition during Homecoming Week. l t if T Richard Adams shows his freshman spirit by participating in Hat Day during the week of Homecoming activities. Freshmen Kim Lengle and Kim Floyd show Homecoming enthusiasm by tying up pirate Leslie Leach. V' Steve Papero pauses for a water break Klages and Andrew Pareti. Richard Parks while Tim Gunagan tells a tale to Eddie passes on his way to class. 265
