Homecoming Bonfire Sparks School Spirit Homecoming week was entitled MHS Team Week by Co-chairmen Becky Quimby and Dian Narmore. Each day was designated according to the letters corresponding with the initials of the school. Tuesday, October 24, began the week with M Day featuring a mystery box by Student Council and the Second Annual Mud Bowl where the Anchor Club won over Z Club and Interact overcame Key Club only turning around to lose to jr. Exchange. H Day followed with Hat Day. Students participated by wearing their favorite hats. Clubs had the opportunity to place hexes on various school activites. The day closed with a hot rod race at the football stadium. Students raced their way to victory on children's tricycles. The string contest was important on S Day. Each class competed by trying to accumulate the most yardage of string. The winner, the senior class, was determined at the Pep Rally. A bonfire and car smash ended the day at the stadium. Enthusiasm poured out of the stadium during the Pep Rally. Skits were presented by each class and other clubs. The senior class won almost every event, including the egg toss. Announcements were made concerning the parade which was held later that evening just before the game. The seniors also won first place for their float. I8 Cheerleaders are outlined by the blazing football stadium while a pirate burns in bonfire held Thursday night at the effigy on top of the fire Carol Stivers, Sharon Overton, Brenda Club to victory against Z Club during Riley, and Patty Quisenberry lead Anchor the Second Annual Mud Bowl.
