A familiar sight to all typing students, the keyboard chart taught them the correct position of their fingers on a typewriter. Y P Business Ed. Builds Future Click, Click, Click, DlNC! were sounds that could be heard coming from within the business building. Typewriters, dictaphones, and adding and ditto machines were just some of the equipment used in the business program. Teachers demonstrated the use of these machines to show the different aspects of business professions. Courses including typing, record keeping, and shorthand were often found helpful by students enrolled in an academic schedule. For students who preferred on the job training, Distributive Education, Diversified Cooperative Education, and Cooperative Business Education I and ll were offered. These programs allowed the students to work in various stores and businesses around the city. 180 lohn DeForge practices a typing drill in his Personal Typing class.
