Guidance Department Guidance Aids Career Choice The Guidance Department concerned themselves not only with the daily needs of students but also with their future. Any information needed about a college or a particular vocation could be found in the department's offices on North and South Campuses. Throughout the year, tests of all sorts were given. Some of these included college entrance exams, the Senior Placement, and the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test for juniors. These tests gave each student a placement locally, statewide, and nationwide. Based on these results, the Guidance Department was able to reach a conclusion concerning the betterment of each gi . , gg i ,Ar x Mr. William Yates, head of guidance, directs students on the first day of were helping the seniors apply for scholarships conducting staff meetings, Studentis future' school. fr -ni Mrs. Camille Southerland, Mrs. Velma Mizell, and Mrs. Betty Brumfiel unite to solve a clerical problem. Mrs. Elizabeth Cooper is the cheery voice on the other end of the line when you call the main office. Office Workers Keep Us Going Even with reams of paperwork, report cards, and attendance sheets, the office staffs still stick with it. Many unusual things happened there, too. Mrs. Elizabeth Cooper was also the reserved football ticket box office, and for the first time, Mrs. Betty Brumfiel no longer had to figure out grade point averages for honor rolls, as the computer did it. Mrs. Glenda Eichholz, bookkeeperp Mrs. Keaton, secretary, form the efficient Peggy Ballard, registrar, and Mrs. Nancy office staff on South Campus.
