Guidance Department Guidance Aids Career Choice The Guidance Department concerned themselves not only with the daily needs of students but also with their future. Any information needed about a college or a particular vocation could be found in the department's offices on North and South Campuses. Throughout the year, tests of all sorts were given. Some of these included college entrance exams, the Senior Placement, and the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test for juniors. These tests gave each student a placement locally, statewide, and nationwide. Administrators Guide Activities The idea that the only thing the deans did was discipline is totally wrong. Among their many and varied duties was checking on the absences and attendances of the entire student body. Mr. Leeth, our principal serving in his ninth year, hired the permanent staff members, while Mr. Choate the assistant principal on North Campus, hired the substitute teachers. Mr. Robert Stewart, the assistant principal on South Campus, made sure that Special Enrichment Days ran smoothly. Dr. Warren Cooper, curriculum specialist, guided students enrolled in the Independent Study Program, while Mr. Choate, the assistant principal on North Campus, hired South Campuses, concerned himself with the daily problems of the high school along with the scheduling of migrant students in classes.
