Junior Varsity Football Baby 'Canes Score High The l.V. football team had its second consecutive winning season with a 6-2 record. Coach john Ensor, with a tvvo-year 13-3 mark, commented, We started off the year with a few fundamental problems, but as the season progressed, these problems were ironed out. He also stated that four players scored 30 points or more. Bryan Geurin and Vincent Dawes with 36 points each, john Burch with 32 points, and Ricky Garrison with 30 points led a high scoring backfield. Red Captures County Title The Freshman Red Team won the County Title with a 4-1-1 record. The White Team posted a 2-2-2 mark. The coaching staff, consisting of Bob Pickens, Steve Brown, Willie Clemons, Bill Bishop, and Wayne Dimond, thought the teams seemed to show the enthusiasm and desire to be successful on a higher level. Head Coach Bob Pickens said, I was satisfied with the performance of both teams. When they are combined to form one unit next year, I believe they have the talent to become a real winner.
