Music Honor Society Dan Thompson has found that the bassoon is Members Earn Point Awards Members of Music Honor Society are musicians drawn from the different music classes at Manatee High. Members are drawn from orchestra, band, and vocal members who have accumulated at least 1,000 points during the school year. After they earned 1,000 points, a letter was awarded and a pin given for each additional 500 points. A banquet was held at the end of the school year where letters and pins were awarded. y - -- - Thespians Members Earn Drama Awards g Thespians is an honorary group made up from Drama Club members who have accumulated 100 points. To earn points, members worked backstage during the musical, made sets and costumes, worked on jamboree, and helped with other such activities. A letter was awarded when 100 points were accumulated and stars were then added to show the amount of service given the club. Spanish Honor Society Party Given For Children The Spanish Honor Society gave its annual Valentine Party for migrant children on February 14 at Rubonia. The party consisted of games and prizes as well as a pinata. The money for the party was obtained by car washes and bake sales. This party has been given for the migrant children every year since 1968. The Spanish Honor Society attended the Florida State Spanish Confer- ence held at jacksonville. They competed in catagories such as poetry and short speeches, impromtu speeches, declamations trecitations of poetryl, and dramatic presentations. OFFICERS President ............. .......
