HEARLEADERS Spirited yells, catchy hand claps, and tricky foot routines are all a part of the show put on by the MCHS Cheerleaders. Hours of practice are spent by these peppy girls preparing forthe football and basketball cheers Early in September, a student-faculty committee selected these girls on the basis of cheering ability, leadership, and pep, Pictured upper left is cheerleader sponsor, Miss Mable Clark. Sllllllll B Squad Coaches George Strouse and Troy Adams, pictured upper right, coached the i956 Baby Canes through a vigorous training season. These persistent Canes finished the season with a fine record. By daily workouts and a full season's schedule these boys are able to get practice needed if they are to move up to the A Squad. Boys improving during the season can be switched to the A Squad, Valuable assistants to both football teams are the three managers pictured lower right. Just as tons lost hope, one point losses from Plant and St, Petersburg, plus a minus two point heart breaker from Jefferson kept tans and players ready to try again.
