We Eat To A Different Beat Cafeteria workers: Ted Martin, Diane Husch, Carol Lutz, Mary Delp. Custodians: Pauline Redd, Janice Mauck. On slave day the lunchroom was the scene of a mock battle. Four “slaves”, Philip Brown, Warren Wood, Glen Gar¬ ner, and Alan Twombly, engaged in combat when their masters yelled, “Air raid.” Shooting rifles and throwing gre¬ nades, the slaves slayed each other in the simulation. They battled again with the climax coming when Philip Brown and Alan Twombly charged each other with fixed bayonets impaling them¬ selves on their opponent’s blade. Their masters, though, were unsatisfied with their performance. They then required their slaves to form a train and to go choo-chooing down the halls. 18 Faculty
