AND PLACES THAT ARE FAMILIAR. ■ «— Manassas Park was incorporated as a town in 1955. It became a city in 1975. The current mayor is J. Frank Murphy. The city has three elementary schools and one high school. It is the youngest school system in Virginia, opening in 1976. Manassas Park occupies approxmately two square miles of Virginia ' s beautiful landscape. On Independance Day residents have a para¬ de,fireworks,games and contests at Costello Park. All summer long, the park boasts Baseball and Softball fields, a swimming pool and tennis court. Ma¬ nassas Park also has its own City Hall, Shopping Center, and a fast - food restaurant.
