It always happens. Every year, every day when we ' re in school, we always think of other places we have to be; projects we must work on; assignments we have to finish; friends we ' ll see; the list goes on and on. When we leave, we suddenly realize how much we missed; activities we passed by. The chances are gone; you can ' t bring them back. But you can treasure those happy memories you do have. This yearbook can help do that, and maybe even help you experience some new ones. 1 Take time to put the pieces of your life together. Terry Young takes his last gulp before lunch ends. we search our lives aimlessly L Bryne asks, “How did I loose that book? ' When will we find an answer? Robin Heltibridle uses library resources. 4 Todd LaRochelle really gets into his work. . . . using our eyes as microscopes . . . Martin Roof tries his hand in auto body. Street looking for a bit of yesterday. . | 6 . . . withholding moments from the past Pam Galahan claps to familiar tunes. Years spin by as if birds soaring through the Mo nths air. speed by as if rockets blasting through space, entering time zones untouched by man. Weeks flee past, as if cars on a freeway. Days flow by like boats on a river. Hours are lost like sand on a beach. Minutes are gone, before we know they were even here. Seconds are used so carelessly, like air, used but never thought of. No One is aware of time and before we realize it, years are gone and we must . . . Move on . . . K Horn and R. Staley gab during lunch. 7 student life D.E Class learns about the world of business. Charles Long reviews bus schedule. N. Lester supervises all instructional programs. career begins with guidance Ms. Martz and Mrs. Niles aid Greg in career choices. The Guidance Department had two helpful counselors, Mrs. Niles, and Ms. Martz. Each had her own individual interests in the students. Mr. Niles helped Seniors plan their futures — be it college or work. She put her all into everything she did. Ms. Martz had he own style of helping. She answered any questions one might have had. She gathered materials for students so they could learn about different colleges. She also took care of rescheduling. Both of these young women worked together to create an understanding between faculty and students. 10 mr. moyers guides mphs to great heights Mr. Moyers tackles his paperwork. Mr. Moyer talks to students ' on Parent Back to School Night. The 1 978-79 school year has been a most rewarding one for Manassas Park High School, its students, and the community it serves. There have been notable achievements in the areas of academic education, vocational education, athletics, and student activities. It has been especially rewarding for me to have seen many young men and women grow toward a fuller realization and acceptance of their respondibilities to themselves and to the society, and begin to develop the characteristics that will enable them to lead more productive, satisfying lives. I want to express my appreciation to those students who have given their time, talents and energies to make Manassas Park High School a better place in which to live, work, and enjoy the various activities school life provides. Any school, to be successful, must have student leaders, and this is particularly true to our relatively young school. I extend to you my warmest personal wishes for future prosperity and happiness. assistant principals keep the school in line Mr. Jones checks his schedule for the day ' s appointments. The seniors were excited about graduation and the chance to go out in the world. They were sorry to leave old friends and old memories behind: the good times and the bad ones. Many seniors were winners this year. Billie Hartman won a place in the Regional Chorus. In the Voice of Democracy Contest, Kathy Hill and Robert Veverka placed first and second. Donna Keplinger won the DAR Citizenship Contest. WPRW picked John Weibel and Karen Bicksler as two of their Honor Athletes. Linda Kirby and Brenda Harmon discuss matters in homeroom. This year we didn ' t accom¬ plish everything we set out to do, but we did have fun trying. Besides — there ' s always next year. Senior class meetings were often important.
