Through individual conferences interviews and group programs we have been aided in solving personal social and scholastic problems. To prepare for the future we have been given aptitude and intelligence tests as a guide to discovering our talents and interests. OUR CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM The 1958 Football season proved to be the most successful since 1947 The Big Blue won both the Shore Conference Class A and Central Jersey Group Ill Championships with an undefeated and untied record Manasquan inaugurated the season with a 13 to 7 victory over Asbury Park before 5 OOO fans ln our first home game the Big Blue walloped Carteret 21 to O Red Bank put up a tough fight before bowing 21 to O at Red Bank for Manasquan s third victory Our next game was the hardest fought as Manas quan came from behind to nip Long Branch 14 to 13 The Big Blue next overpowered Neptune by a 28 to O score in a game played on a Monday afternoon Manasquan's powerful attack wore down a spirited Casey team for a 41 to O win. The Shore Conference Championship was clinched when the Big Blue rolled over Middletown 20 to O. Manasquan crushed Freehold 20 to O in the final league game of the season at the loser's field. The Big Blue 'ended its undefeated, untied record with a 19 to O victory over traditional Turkey Day rival, Point Pleasant Beach. At the Big Blue Booster testimonial dinner, John Kenney received the Roetzel Award for the outstand- ing player of the year. The Magee Award was pre- sented to Chuck Salkeld for the unsung hero of the team. Captains for the year were John Kenney and Bill Osborne.
