Beth Osenton As co-editor of the yearbook, it is my responsibility to assist in developing a pictorial history of the academic and extracurricular activities of the 1979-80 school year. In the distant future, after our memories have become faded with time, we can open our yearbooks and again realize the important role that our teachers and our friends played during our years at Man High. We hope this visual history will assist us in recapturing the fleeting moments of shared memories during our senior year. Maybe the sight of a certain smile, a sparkle in someone's eyes, or a glimpse of a familiar face will be the catalyst that restores the vividness of our high school years to our memories. Editors’ Comment Working on the yearbook staff has been a challenging and rewarding experience that will always be one of the happiest memories of my senior year. The yearbook staff has combined their efforts in presenting an annual that will forever keep these memories vivid in our minds. As we enter into a new decade of time, we emerge into this complicated world as young adults, possessing dreams and goals that we hope to fulfill someday. I feel that we, the 1980 graduating class, have the potential needed to reach our ultimate goals, and the ability to make this world a better place for future generations. 15 Regina Runyon

Our Todays And Yesterdays We all came together three years ago today, Taplin, Christian, South Man, Man, Buffalo Creek, Huff Creek and many others along the way. Pushing and shoving trying to get through each day, each week, even year. It took a lot of time, but we finally made it cause look at us we're here. We came to know each other. And your best friend became your brother, Each a part of the other, It ends as it had begun To the school we leave our hearts, Ever loyal and true. To Mr. Kerley and teachers. Our thanks for all you tried to do The years went by so quickly, In the twinkle of an eye; Three years of our lives gone Now we say our last good-bye Long will the memories linger reminscing in our mind Our laughter fills these halls; each and every person's name embedded in these Old Man Walls Many thoughts fill our heads on our Graduation Day; Memories both good and bad of truths and trials along the way. Quietly we’re waiting Diplomas in hand Tears are shed so quickly the Alma Mater from the band. A sadness unlike any other. Creeps, uneasy and alive, our last walk together. We end as friends forever! Sad eyes turn the other way, a new beginning an ever lasting dream a non-stop ending Tomorrow is the future, Yesterday was the past. How these days seem to never last, For the structure that we raised It took time and materials fulfilled OIJR TODAYS AND YESTERDAYS Are the blocks with which we build Each block will strengthen and support the rest Eighty is the class that will do its very best. 14 Terena Western
