Mr. George Klipa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Klipa, was born March 23, 1930, in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. Before his graduation from Man High School in 1950, he participated in football, baseball, and basketball. Upon graduation he entered Marshall where he continued in football and was President of Hodges Hall. His major was political science and his minor was history. In 1955 he received his A.B. degree and later obtained his M.A. in Secondary School Administration. His first teaching job was at Sharpies High. Mr. Klipa resides a 212 West McDonald, Man, West Virginia, with his wife Jean and two daughters, Terri and Debbie. 2

■ Some years ago the noted Englishman, Thomas Huxley, stated that perhaps the most valuable result of all education is the ability to make yourself do the things you have to do, when it ought to be done, whether you like it or not. It seems to me that Huxley's observation is very mean- ingful. After all, one is not in a formal school situation indefinitely. Therefore, it behooves us then, as educators, to help provide for our students an opportunity to develop the maturity to appreciate and in- corporate the point Huxley sought to make. In the final analysis, we all must assume a sense of responsibility for our own learning. John Arnold 4
