H. S. The Homecoming festivities began with a big parade--one of the best ever held in Man. The participants proceeded to the athletic field where the floats were judged during the half-time activities. Each year a plaque is awarded to the homeroom which has the best float in the parade. This year 12-A won the plaque for the second consecutive year. Five girls were elected by the student body to represent the senior, junior, and sophomore classes. Miss Charlotte Sue Wintz, daughter of Mrs. Lillie Wintz of Lorado, was crowned queen by Mr. Jack Neely during half-time ceremonies. Senior attendants were Linda Blankenship and Mary Daniels. Junior attendant was Shelva Jean Thompson. Sophomore attendant was Alice Wintz. Madison was defeated by the Hillbillies --the fans were jubilant long after the dance was over that night. Excited fans! And the game has begun. Crowning of Miss Man High School Run, Charlie, run! That’s the way to do it, boys MISS FLAME OF 1954 Miss Phyliss Harless, daugh- ter of M r. and M rs. Virgil Har- less of Kistler, was the first girl in Man High School to be honored by the title of Miss Flame . Miss Flame was judged by the LoganJaycees who sponsored the contest during Fire Preven- tion Week. ALL SOUTHERN Tony Tallarico, end, was the first football player in the history of Man High School to make the first string of the All Southern Team. For the first time both the players and the coaches of the schools in the southern part of the state voted on the players whom they thought were the most outstand- ing for the different positions. Tony also achieved the honor of being selected Par- ticular Honorable Mention on the All-State Team.
