Mn iff, in iuerdfy continzwd from pagc 2 Already the gem sparklesg but add the facets of Mam- aroneck's extra-curricular program, and the once-raw stone takes on the light of a diamond: clubs and organizations from football to debating and from automobile mechanics to biological experiments. Every student may find his place in one of these extra-curricular facets, whether it's an ath- letic team, a section of Science Association, school govern- ment, arts and crafts, careers, languages, or publications. Like a perfect gem, our school would not be perfect with even one of these facets missing. With such diversification of academic and extra-curricu- lar life, the core of MHS must be sturdy enough to unite all the facets. The cohesive force linking together all the parts of the school might best be summed up as School Spirit. No one can fail to feel this fo1'ce at work when the school assembles for a football game - the band plays the Alma Mater, the players run under the arch made by our cheer- leaders and twirlers, and the Tiger followers cheer from the stands. This is the unity in diversity which encompasses the school, embodied in the General Association where each stu- dent is equally represented. Because of its wide facilities, MHS can meet the needs of every student. No matter where a student's interests lie, some part of MHS can serve that interest. Each activity is an integral part of the whole, each student and teacher a vital facet of school life. United in spirit, diverse in in- terests - A Gem of Many Facets. 4 4
