JAMES K. LONGENECKER 402 N. Duke St. Lancaster, Pa. lljirnll Jim was Lancaster's representative in the Malvern Senior class. His genial smile didn't vanish even for a second since he arrived in his Sophomore year. Jim's discovery of a new method of pronouncing French intrigued Father Keating greatly. On the tennis team since he first came, he was one of our star doubles players. Jim intends to follow his tamily's footsteps by studying pharmacy at Temple. ,P4x!:'a-Z3 Junior Team Football 2 Masq W Tennis 2-3-4 Malvernian 4 I, ff 5 Friar's Lantern 4 xfxn Prtsuq Tivhv Sanctuary Society 4 kg 'Q ' - T Blue and White Club 3-4 , f f X .lf-'lg 'H wi f 1 ff! He claims that he uses one and only one pillow to peek through the windshield, but we are not convinced as yet. That he is full of pep and dynamite, he proved on the grid-iron, that he is full of charm and smiles, is proved by his portrait. John will probably keep the family tradition, and sell Chrysler convertibles to anyone with plenty of change. fb ull 'gr 7,1 Junior Team Football 'I-2-3 X69 Intra-Mural Sports 4 f T Blue and where club 3-4 Nfl X ,n m,,,,'05 I Arif?-,,,'e-f,,ff5Q c, I 1 , X5 S5 -X ll . it 52 lxai C:-1' J

l FRANCIS K. KILLMOND 2740 Springfield Rd. Broomall, Pa. Frank Shorty Killmond, who made Malvern and Newton Square very proud of him by passing the N.R.O.T.C. exam, is now well on his way to becoming another John Paul Jones. Our pro- spective seaman played J. V. Football in Freshman year, circled the track as a Junior, and so skillfully managed the Varsity football team that he received a Varsity letter. His vocal talents swelled the chorus in last spring's musical Eileen , Frank's next stop will be Villanova, where he plans to study Commerce and Finance. J. V. Matt Matt, a Senior addition to the Class of '51, calls Hazelton his Home Sweet Home . The surrounding woods and lakes of that metropolis hold no secrets from Matt, who is a good huntsman and swimmer. As manager of the Varsity football squad and member of the swimming and track teams, he displayed his athletic abilities. Matt's math books reveal his artistic talent. Villanova's School of Commerce and Finance will keep him from his beloved homeland for the next four years. Varsity Swimming 4 6:3 Track 4 gl! BYRNE MARHOEFER 155 Birch Ave. Winnetka, Ill. llBYrnell Snap! Flash! Pop! - These are the sounds dearest to Byrne's ear. As you probably guessed it, Byrne is the chief photographer of both the Friar's Lantern and the Malvernian . He certainly knows how to pop that flashgun . More often than not, his name appeared on the Honor Roll. Byrne's hobbies include, besides photography, radio, mechanics and building model airplanes. Come September, he will begin his study of En- gineering at Purdue. Keating's most original French students, has astounded many a Frenchman by his novel pronounciation of that language. Through hard work, he obtained for himself quite a reputation as an athlete, excelling in football and basketball. John is the proud owner of a new Ford, of which he takes admirable care. We are sure that John's personality will be a great asset to him at St. Joe's, which college he plans to attend come September. Junior Team Football I-2-3 Varsity Football 'I ' J. V.
