MALVERN HIGH CALENDAR OF EVENTS SEPTEMBER 1959-1960 By October the routine of school was be- coming more and more normal. The big news during the month was Homecoming, October 23, which the Leopards celebrated with a win over Jacksonville. Other victories by the Leopards were over Camden and Russellville and a tie with Conway. The Student Council dance following the home- coming game was enjoyed by a large portion of the student body. NOVEMBER September marked the opening of school with the usual long lines waiting to receive registration cards. The largest classes in the history of Malvern High School began the old grind of studying, lectures, and extracurricular activities. Football season got off to a bang with three straight wins over Sheridan, Morrilton and Crossett before falling before the bruis- ing Catholic High Rockets. OCTOBER The month of November saw the students receiving their first vacation since school opened. Two days were given the first week of November for State Teachers Meeting and two more days the last week for Thanksgiving The football team ended its most successful season in recent years with wins over Benton, Smackover, and Arkadelphia and a tie with Fairview.
