V as W 57 The Malvern High School Choir started this year's work with forty-two voices, The members of the choir enjoyed one of the most successful years since it was organized five years ago. Under the direction of Miss Christina Harris, the choir presented Handel's Mes- siah in December. They also sang for patients at the Army-Navy Hospital in Hot Springs during the Christmas Holi- days. The choir sang in several assembly programs 'during the year. They presented the annual operatta in March. This year, it was a Gypsy-Hun- garian production entitled Chonita. Uwir The social highlights of the year were the annual dinner-dance at the Barlow hotel, a caroling party during the Christ- mas holidays, and several outings on the 1-ake. The Choir made several trips to Little Rock-to attend the annual music festival in April, and to attend the production of The Barber of Seville. Accompanist for the year was Patsy Cooper.
