CLHSS HISTURU Sept. 1937--Our first day of school. teachers. Miss Creighton and Miss Lappin were our first 1958--Second grade. Miss Dewell and Miss Lappin were our beloved teachers. Our class roll was swelled Hubbard, Charles Harsh, 1939--The year of 1940--Upstairs to by the addition of Dorothy Rennie, Myrtle McCollister, Betty and Gary Lauener. Kate Baxter moved away. third grade studies, with Miss Rohrer as our new teacher. the fourth grade and Miss Helen Ayres as our instructor. Mmxle McCollister took leave of our class but Doris Klotz made up for the loss. 1941--CarmahHta.Burford and Annie Green joined us for the fifth year of our ed- ucation. Miss Kuder took over the task of trying to improve our mentality. 1942--Miss Motter and the sixth grade. We added Kenny Gier during this year but lost two girls, namely, Annie Green and Clara Swinehart. 1945--Seventh grade and the high school building. The class was divided into two groups with Mrs. Tests and Mrs. Whittacre as home room teachers. 1944--The worst class in school were now eighth graders with Miss Schambra and Mrs. Pretty in charge of our name reams. 1945--At last, High School and the ninth grade. Mrs. Pretty and Mrs. Rdmano had charge of the freshies Cusl. Glen Rist, a member of our class, was drowned during the sum er preceeding our entrance into High School. Annie Green and Clara Swinehart came back to us, along with a new member, Harvey Geiger. Harvey cameto us from waynesburg. 1946--Class rings and the 10th grade. Boys under the guidance of Mr. Rice while the girls were in Miss George's home room. 1947--Juniors at last. Miss Helen George was our able class advisor. We sold magazines and sponsored two class plays. The first, The Ghost House was directed by Mrs. Teets, and the other, The Bright Penny by Mrs. Helen Romano. May l, 1947 was one of the most important days in our school life, it was the day of the Junior-Senior Prom. Our class roll was swelled by the addition of Merle Baughman and Jhn Nichols Our class prexy Ronnie Bixler moved to Robertsville so Don Snively was elevated to the post of President. 19
