THE MUSE The Stunt Group-ln the fall when tht- girls signed up for Interest Groups. Miss Howard 's Stunt tiroup hatl by no mt-ans the smallest regis- tration. The enthusiasm of this seetion has bt-t-n kept from the beginning and many splentlid stunts and plays have bt-en protlueetl. The Soeial St-rvit-e tlroup has been very at-tive this year. The girls matle antl filled over fifty tfhristmas stot-kings. They mt-t with splendid response from the pupils in the st-hool, antl with their ht-lp sueeet-tled in brightening the hours of many ehildrt-n this Christmas. The group has further plans, and hopes to eontinue their work during the winter months. The First Aid l.i1'Ul1ll-A very worth while f'UllI'St' has bt-en prepared by the Red fl1'tlSS Society and the mt-mbt-rs of this tlroup, at the t-om- plt-tion of the Course. l't-eeive a l't'l'llfll'2llL'. Just the girls you would like to mt-et, In a rollit-king, frolit-ing monthly treat. Those of you who have not been to Beans really do not know the fun you are missing. Each Beans is all that one t-ould desire-and even more. Every program is a seeret and you can imagine the delightful surprise when, after a most enjoyable supper. you are taken into the Grey room. Here, sitting before an open fire, are rows and rows of girls in white middies. Everybody is laughing and t-hatting and before long you find yourselves in the midst of one of the many groups and joining in the merry conversation. Then eomes a jolly sing-song, usually followed by games. Stunts by the members of one of the st-hools or the reading of a story by one of the girls, eomplt-tes the program. New friendships are made and happy girls, forming a eirt-le. join hantls and sing the good-night song ' ' Taps. ' ' Stunt night is possibly the most interesting Beans of the yeaI'. Un this night, after weeks and weeks of praetise, the girls of the different sehools put on a stunt: the winning st-hool being presented with a prize. U readers! Imagine the pridt- antl ext-itemt-nt that filled every Malvernite heart when this year at that tense moment tht- judges presented the silver t-up to our st-hool! Not only hert- but at many other meetings our girls have shown tht-mst-lves a t-rt-dit to Malvern. THE .IIUSE Camp 66 QQ t'.Ull' has moved again, and this time it will stay. The new eamp is near Parry Sound on 'tieorgian Bay, one ot the loveliest spots in tintario. Where there was but one hnnter's eabin last spring. there are now two eabins. a big lodge. and a. row of tents along the edge of the water. Behind these is a wide field for games and beyond that a beautit'nl t'orest ot' pines and poplars. Follow- ing the path in t'ront ot' the tents, we eome to a high rounded roek. high above the water, on whieh all the eampers assemble for morning worship. This is the plaee where we. the fortunate first campers spent the happiest days ot' our summer vacation. NVe ealled the eamp an aerodrome and played at being aviators. The dining-room was the hangar and the eabins bore equally appropriate names sueh as the eoekpit. tail- spin, propeller and so on. iVe were the merriest buneh ot' fliers. and the most earet'ree.f-t'or what was there to worry over? Imagine running oti' to the woods for ten days. free from the noise and heat of the eity. with thirty other girls your own age, from Toronto high selioolsl There was everything to make any kind ot' girl happy.-a morning dip to pep you np. and a long swim in the afternoon. baseball and volley ball games, boat trips. and eanoeing under the supervision of the leaders. A stunt and song eontest between the three groups made one evening roek with fun. Many ot' the songs that are new to the Maids of Malvern originated at eamp. Une morning. bet'ore the sun was up. the nature study group went, a-hunting for the songs of birds. Jimmy Skunk was off on a hunt ot' his own but we let him follow it. Paddling quietly up a tiny ereek, we searehed the trees for the shy musieians. The bell like tones of the vireo, the merry ''teaeher-teaeher'' ot' the oven bird, the sudden ehunk of a. frog. and a tleeting glimpse ot' a bright-eyed water snake slipping through the water. these are a t'ew ot' the treasured memories whieh we brought, home. l'erhaps we will remember longest the quiet time in the morning that eaeh eamper spent alone, lt was not eompulsorysjnst ten minutes in the eainp program set apart l'or thinking. lt was in this early morning hour. when the mist was melting away from the lake and hillsides, and in the evening around our eamptire when we watehed the first pale stars peep ont ol' a sunset sky. that we loved eamp the most.
